"Stillness isn’t something you achieve. It’s what shows up when you’ve finally dropped everything that doesn’t matter."
This statement was eye-opening and thought-provoking for me.
From time to time, we find ourselves pondering this question: where is this journey taking us? It serves as a beautiful key and provides valuable clues for re-evaluating our way of thinking and our perspective on events.
Suffering begins when we mentally label situations as bad. We resist what is, yet situations are never permanent. They never were. I can recall so many moments that once made me feel stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. Those situations no longer exist, and now that I think about it, my reactions back then were unnecessary, even a bit funny. It was like this in the past, it’s like this now, and it will likely be the same in the future.
I had to go through those negative emotions and painful experiences in order to realize this. As your words reminded me, and as E. Tolle says: "Suffering is necessary until we realize it is not".
Really appreciated your post. Looking forward to what’s next!
I’ve been going through something similar lately, trying to make sense of all the noise, so reading this truly lifted my spirits
